The Goat Challenge

About the Challenge:

The Goat Tongariro is the stuff of legends - a truly gnarly run across the slopes of the North Island's tallest mountain.

This Challenge sets you the goal of doing as many gnarly runs from the Wild Things Directory (those with a Gnarl Factor of 60+) as you can.

Taking part will get you Goat fit for the race in January and could also win you a reimbursement of your entry fee + more!

How to earn Challenge Points:

• Each time you complete a qualifying run you will earn points equivalent to the Grunt Factor of that run e.g. complete a run with a Grunt Factor of 27 and you earn 27 points
• Repeat runs over the same trail are all good - e.g. completing that same Grunt Factor 27 run three times during the Challenge will earn you 27 x 3 = 81 Challenge Pts

Track your progress and standing on the Challenge Leaderboard.

The more Challenge Points you earn the better your chances of winning one of the Major Prizes.

Post pics from your runs to your Instagram account using the hashtag #thegoattrailchallenge to be in to win bonus prizes.

TAKE CARE OUT THERE: These runs are gnarly and it's winter. Please go properly prepared (see the Suggested Gear List under 'Staying Safe' on trail guides) and always let somebody know where you are going and when you expect to be back.

MAJOR PRIZES

NB Anyone can take part in this Challenge but to be in to win one of these you will need to enter The Goat Tongariro 2022 race before the end of the Challenge (19th Sept 2021)

At the end of the Challenge we will draw 3 winners. Each will receive:

• Reimbursement of the cost of their race entry to The Goat Tongariro 2022
• A FREE place on The Goat training camp in November 2021 (details TBC)

The total value of each prize is around $750!

INSTAGRAM PRIZES

During the Challenge we will periodically award  prizes to Challengers who post pics to their Instagram account using #thegoattrailchallenge  - quality pics that are in keeping with the theme of the Challenge have the best chance of being selected.

Each prize will consist of a Goat-branded cap and Thir headwear.
