Soldiers Monument isn't named on the topo map, but it's a very well-known Dunedin landmark. Start from Tomahawk Lagoon, you can access 41 Peg Track from the Oregon Street through the wee park. Run up to the monument following the track, it's often pretty high grass but the route is obvious. It's steep but not particularly long. You can either go up and back, or make it a loop by running to the monument, then follow the track down to Highcliff Road and then follow any route down and around. I like to start this run from South Dunedin, along St Kilda beach to Tomahawk Lagoon over the golf course and back around Anderson's Bay. It's a great run with spectacular views from the top.
