How long do they last?
Approximately 6-12 months depending on use and care. It can be more or less.
How do I care for them?
Periodically dry these Boot Bananas out in the sun - or near a radiator - and avoid excessive moisture exposure, which may shorten lifespan. Only intended for removing odour and sweat. Not for drying wet footwear.
Why have the bananas changed colour?
The natural fibre fabric cotton banana ‘skins’ may discolour with use as the fabric breaks down and activated charcoal shows through from behind. This is is the nature of these home compostable inserts, handle with care to reduce the chance of colour change.
What do these smell like?
These inserts are fragrance free, they have no scent which makes them perfect for sensitive noses.
When will I know when to replace them?
Replace when the inserts stop removing or preventing odour. Or if the activated charcoal breaches the banana skins.
What’s the best way to dispose of the bananas at the end of their life?
This product is home compostable, so you can compost the entire banana at the end of its lifespan. The charcoal itself will not compost as it is already an element (carbon), but is a great addition to compost or soil, helping to balance moisture and nutrient levels.
Can I take these travelling?
Absolutely, just be sure to bring the packaging pouch for air travel to help the passport control and TSA staff during luggage checks.
Do you have different sizes?
No, currently this is a one size fits most product. It will fit in all adult and most children’s size footwear. In young children’s shoes the bananas might stick out the top of the shoes.
