The run ties together several of the tracks around Waitawa Regional Park. It is an 11.2km loop double with a split between the start and finish line. This is the Xterra Super Long course but is mostly the same as the shorter courses. A good portion of the track became quite muddy with many runners, this shouldn't be a problem during summer or with less runners. There are some great views of the Hauraki Gulf from the hill tops and some nice beaches along the run.

Great loop, almost all the most enjoyable single trail despite mostly being farnland and scrub bush.
A bit lame though having a published trail that repeats the same loop, just because Xterra does so. In my view a directory trail stands on its own merits (and the WildThings can always add on their own variations).

Great course, gets a bit techy in the trees with off camber trails and switch backs. Quite a tough course in the mud, but gorgeous views

I enjoyed the run, stunning views of the gulf, mostly mud but that's to be expected when hundreds of people run it on the same day in winter. The only downside was the limited parking, so for the xterra we had to bus there and back which meant a reasonable wait after the run.
