Starting at the Blue Lake (Lake Tikitapu) carpark, head left along the lake front for about 150 metres, follow the road for about 600 metres until you see a walking track sign to your right.

Head down here and follow this single track until you reach a little beach, which is a great spot for a swim). You will see a track directly in front of you - head up this and up the stairs. When you reach the top, turn right and carry on along the trail.

At around the 3km mark, there is a fork. Hang a right here and continue on the loop track. This is well signposted. This section of single track leads you back to the carpark.

Beautiful lake to swim in. Many photo spots around the lake. There is a lookout after the beach and stairs which lets you see both Lake Tikitapu and Lake Rotokākahi. Turn left instead of right at the top of the stairs and go to end of carpark.

3 sets of toilets at the start area left, middle and right ends. Halfway point after the little beach and stairs, turn left to the lookout carpark.

Ample parking and usually a busy area so safe to park.
