This is a perfect entry level run for any new or old trail runners who want a cruisy trot around the foot of the Port Hills. It's also a great option to warm up on if you are taclking the Chairlift Choice which leaves from the Adventure Park carpark half way in. Please check Adventure Park website for opening hours. Access is free for foot traffic during Park open hours.
You'll start with a nice easy flat trot into the Adventure Park using a mix of the urban trails that have been developed around the new wetland retention area, and the CAP access road. Pleasant travel.
Head up to the Adventure Park café and pick up the well signposted Hiking Trail option to the left of the building. This follows a great trail into the forest which soon becomes a loop. There's nice amounts of easy vert to get the blood flowing. Just make sure to pay attention where the foot trail crosses the mountain bike paths - this is well signposted where it occurs.
About 3.6 km into the run you will reach the top of the loop and head back on the turn towards the café again - nice fast trails to really put the hammer down on here.
Finish the route by retracing your steps out to the main road on whatever trails you choose around the wetland area, unless you are nipping up the hill trail for extra points

I actually really enjoyed this run. I do think the route could capitalise more on the extensive trails through the wetlands rather then hitting the road - however when submitted I think these trails did not exist. Fun run regardless and you can defintely pick up some speed on the turning point at the top of the adventure park loop. Can be muddy through the adventure park section. Definitely will be back to the adventure park to do some loops around the track as it was good undulating hill running that isn't super steep but enough of a grade to get the legs pumping.

Never realized how awesome this would be in winter. Perfect if you want to put the hammer down on the speed front, and just enough up in the middle to elevate the HR

Was searching the trail directory for a flattish taper run and found this one. Thought it did the job very nicely. Easy flat section in and then a little bit of hill work once you’re in the forest. Is a good beginners trail. Would recommend doing it on a day with cloud cover.

A warm and quite bland run in the hot summer sun with no trees - for the majority. A good easy run if you need something fast and easy to navigate as an out of towner. Not very well signposted but it's a loop so it should end up at the same place if you take the wrong turn. A bit confused as to where to start the run - parked at the start of Worseleys Rd just after the turnoff from the main road and went from there for an 8km loop.
