From the Taylors Mistake car park head to the right past the toilet/shower block, cross the wooden bridge and follow the marked trail towards the beach, past a row of baches on your right and up the stone steps. Head left at the top of the steps and follow the graveled, smooth, meter and a half wide all weather tourist trail along the coast.

Several "small" hills later you will come to the first of the gun placements, The original trail beyond this gun placement, the Godley Head Reserve and the actual carpark are now closed due to asbestos contamination in the reserve. So here you turn right off the track and take the poled (orange markers) route up past the historic Scott's Cabin (yes, from Antarctica) then towards the Godley Head car park.

About five metres from the Godley Head road turn right onto the Breezes Col MTB track where you rejoin the original God's Con Rehab Road trail. This is narrow MTB track so keep an ear out for bikes. Easy running though, so you can pick up the pace a bit as you run parallel with Godley Head road for a couple of km's before descending down to join the Anaconda. This has some nice big bermed corners where you can really stretch the legs out, then leads into a semi-technical section for the last km back into the rear overspill car park back at Taylors.

An Anaconda alternative (or if you plain missed the turn off to the track) is to continue down the hill on the walkway, which rejoins the main outgoing track, this misses some distance and some cool trail but is potentially easier on the ankles!

Trail Reviews

Another great trail close to home and with awesome views. Was a nice run in spring with the ewes and new lambs keeping any eye on us.

This one is right up there! Stunning views, flowing, all runnable trails. Loved it to bits

You really can't beat this trail for it's views & nice tidy trail provided to run on! Asbestos work continues so sadly some of the nicest parts are inaccessible currently. A nice walk to do with the kids on school holidays.

Rare to have a gentle undulating hill route in Chch! Nice! Although, pretty darn dry at the end of summer.
