A figure of eight track which covers all of the area. A very easy track for beginners and one for the children too.
Start at the dirt mound and follow the outside track till you reach a bridge. Take the track to the right before the bridge and follow track over a boardwalk. You will end back on the track you were just on. Stay on this track and turn left when you get to the pond. Follow the track past the pond and then follow the outside track until you reach the bridge again.
Just before the bridge, turn left and follow the track past the pond. Follow the track around the outside of the area and this time cross the bridge and keep following the outside path. When you reach the pond turn left and follow the track around the pond and you will be back at the beginning. If you want some elevation you can go up the dirt mound. You may choose to extend or change the route to suit you.
Explore and try and spot the natural springs just off the trail.

My watch didn’t cope with the GPX on this and I definitely did an extra loop or two. It was a perfect, flat recovery trail though and the views of the Port Hills were great.

Love having something so quiet, cruisy and scenic on my doorstep. Perfect for a stretch, even speedwork

Nice easy run with various loops to do. There is a fun set of concrete square 'mushroom steps' running across one of the sections of wetlands which is raised so it's possible to cross when there is a lot of water about. There are major road works on Quaifes road today, 16th August 2020, so you need to come down Quaifes road from the Winchops Road junction rather than from Sabys Road end.

A cute little reserve. Going to be great in 20 years when the trees are bigger.
