This can either be done as a double out and back from the pub or a single out and back from either end.

Jump in beside the river and follow the obvious trails the whole way there and back.

There is some interesting history along the way and all in all it is a pleasant countryside river tail to enjoy. Some of the locals have done some very fast times here, good luck catching them.

Tai Tau is the historic iwi boundary for the region.

Trail Reviews

I've cycled through Tai Tapu a few times, and stopped at the cafe, so this was a nice way to see some new (to me) historic buildings.
