Park on Lilybank Rd at the Regional Park Carpark (on the right-hand side).
Find the information sign (with map) and start off straight down the main 4WD track through the forest.
When you come to a fork in the road take the top right-hand track and head northeast. You are aiming to hit the top/north boundary of the forested area where you will find a stile crossing the fence leading to the start of the lagoon track.
Once you have found the stile, cross over and begin the lagoon loop track. There is another information sign at this point so it is pretty clear where to go – enjoy!
Smaller loop on the way leads to a 'Frog Rock' feature, which kids might enjoy.

Long-sleeved thermal top, Seam-sealed waterproof jacket, Whistle, First aid kit, Cellphone
No water source on route, except for the lagoon (but unsure if you would want to drink this!).
Can be very windy and weather can be changeable.
It can be quite windy along track, make sure to take warm clothes. There are also many rabbit holes to watch out for.

Cool little loop. Did it as part of the race tekapo 50k and the trail was really runnable. Very open and a nice tekapo hit out other than Mount John.
