Start at various access points.
This is from the base of mountain road.
Start onto bush track marked Forest Walk, this is most of the ascent in this section.
You will exit onto grass area, follow road up, cross main road (careful traffic) and enter forest walk on the other side of the road.
To continue loop, run straight, turn left at Powderkeg, R) at next section, past Kings, and down hill on Miro Street.
Run to end of Miro Street, turn L) at main road, cross bridge, and enter domain at Carrot.
Follow the trail to the end, cross main road, continue past skate park. DO NOT CROSS WALKING BRIDGE, enter bush to the L) of this.
Follow the trail to the end, turning R) on exit to continue on road again. Turn L) at main road, and at Ayr street, Continue onto trail along river. This trail will exit with another short road section, cross the swing bridge, and continue on trail along river.
At the end of this trail, cross bridge over main road, and return to Forest walk starting point

Enjoyable after work leg stretcher.... a bit much road and footpath trail to rate any higher though.

Great run for one of those days when you just want to churn out a few k's without being to stressed about elevation gain and if your staying in town you can pretty much just walk out your door and start the trail

Such a lovely river and forest loop! Was great to do when it was too windy to go up the mountain. We had a light dusting of snow on the trail which was really fun. If you start and stop at the beginning of the old coach road then it's a good spot for coffee at OCR cafe.
