Starting at the Devils Creek carpark it is a pretty straightforward route. A good wee mission if you are thinking of doing one of the Northburn distances, similar terrain but accessible all year round. So, over the stile and head up the hill on the farm track. This route follows the farm track all the way up to Mt Kinaki at about 10km in. Once you get to that point, it is then a big dip down in to the headwaters of Devils Creek. Then, it's a mission of a climb back out and up to Castle Rock - not likely to be much running in this part as there is no track and a 35% gradient (this big in-and-out allows you to stay in the Bendigo Conservation Area and not head on to private land).
Soak up the view of Castle Rock when you get there then head along the ridge and up until you meet up with the 4WD track again and head on over to Mt Apiti. Enjoy the vista, then it is back the way you have come back to your car.

This trail includes the peaks Mount Kinaki and Mount Apiti.

Just bunchloads of classic Central Oatgo scenery.

If you know of any public toilets near the trail start or on the route, please login and then let us know so we can update this section.

Lots of parking off the road, pretty open so should be safe.
