Starting at the reserve, head up the poled route until you meet up with the dam access road. Follow this up the hill until you reach the stile at the end. Then it becomes a single track marked by poles, follow this along until you reach Plank Creek, where you will have to get your feet wet and cross the Roaring Meg creek. Continue following the poles up until Tuhoys Saddle. It's then an easy cruise down the farm road/pack track until you reach the car park.

Dams, Rivers, Mining relics

Roaring Meg available at points, easiest is when you cross it at Plank Creek.

Very snowy during winter, would be difficult to find track in heavy snow.

Just the usual footing issues.

Trail Reviews

Good trail - started at Roaring Meg. Was hard to follow the trail for the first half due to spring/summer grass growth, but once on the DOC side was easy. We took a few slight detours as a result, so carry a topo map or app! Lots of speargrass. Was a great day trail though! Took us just under 4 hours. Finished at the Cardrona pub after :)
