Starting at the car park, follow the well marked track. It takes you up the hill at an easy gradient which is very pleasant to run. The track winds its way up, sticking to the main track is easy and is well signposted where there is a couple of intersections.
Follow the track all the way up until you reach the top and the statues etc. Then turn around and head back down!

There is a big new carpark at the end of the lane beside Logan Park High School. There is a gate on it that will get locked at 9.30pm in summer, earlier in winter. Check the sign BEFORE you park!

Easy.

Follow main track, follow signposts at intersections.

Perfect throughout.

Short-sleeved thermal top, Windproof jacket, Beanie/thermal headwear, Whistle, First aid kit, Extra food for emergencies, Cellphone, Map

Could drink out of the creek, but I wouldn't. Take your own!

Top little part of the track is exposed, so pretty nippy when windy.

Part of the Mountain Biking Otago network of tracks, so be on the lookout for bikers. Places where tracks cross are well signposted.

Trail Reviews

Great trail, easy gradient all the way up.

NOTE: the Wild Things route follows the "wet" section of the trail - about 2.5km from the start there is a sharp corner vaguely signposted as "left if dry, right if wet". Take the right turn and follow the track to a clearing, turn left and about 5 metres on there is another sign for Big Easy Access Track, which will take you back to the main route.

Great off road run with easy access close to town. Awesome training hill run with gentle gradient zig zagging up the hill. Made by the mountain bike club to access the downhill rides.

Easily runnable the whole way. Lovely sheltered bush and lots of birdsong. A great training run!
