A nice tour of Glenorchy and the surrounding wetlands as they head out towards the aptly named Paradise.
Our route starts near the carpark for the Glenorchy Walkway, however you can start anywhere in the village and head for the wharf and historic shed. Take a few minutes to read up on the history, There's heaps to take in inside the shed.
This route can be completed either clockwise or anti-clockwise (note: the GPX file is anti-clockwise). If you are heading clockwise, head north up the side of the Rees River as it arrives into the head of the lake. Take note, swimming here can be exceedingly dangerous, don't be tempted.
For the rest of the run take the Glenorchy Wetland trails on a combination of boardwalks and easy trails as they meander around waterways. Some great vantage points of Mt Earnslaw and the surrounding mountains are on offer. Loop back round the north loop and back to the carpark.
Beautiful views of the top of the lake and surrounding mountains.
If you know of any public toilets near the trail start or on the route, please login and then let us know so we can update this section.
