A nice out and back alongside the Taieri River. Starting at Outram Glen carpark you head on to the track and then follow the easy to find track along to its ending where Lee Stream meets the Taieri River. It's got some lovely spots, some up and downs, so tricky footing in places, a good wee work out for a shot run.

Just a nice wee bush run.

If you know of any public toilets near the trail start or on the route, please login and then let us know so we can update this section.

Plenty of parking, pretty secluded, so keep valuables out of sight.

Easy.

Patchy.

Windproof jacket, Beanie/thermal headwear, Whistle, First aid kit, Extra food for emergencies, Cellphone, Map

There's the Taieri River and Lee Stream, but I wouldn't drink out of them... so no, bring your own.

Likely to be plenty of water on track after rain from many small streams.

Roots, tripping hazards etc

Trail Reviews

Unexpectedly fun shortish out and back. More undulating and gnarly in the mid 1/3 than expected (making for a better workout and more technical run) but still runnable most of the way. Also more varied than a simple "riverside run" but nice and cool in the bush - would be an excellent escape from the summer heat with a cool dip at the end (or the middle potentially). I'll definitely be back.

Fun out and back by the river. Starts of easy then gets a bit more root hoppy. Nice to explore a new area not far from the MIL :)

Nice trail. Technical enough to keep you on your toes but smooth enough that you can get a decent pace on.

Great trail! Nice flowing track with just enough technical to keep you on your toes. Where the track splits, follow the skinny, rooty trail up the hill, not the big wide track down to the river.
