A very nice open, undulating walk/run totaling approx 11.6 km return. Depart the carpark on the Lake front and follow it until you reach the Waterfall Creek bridge which is approx 2.5km in. Cross the bridge and continue on the Waterfall Creek track for an additional 3km when the gravel path splits in two. Take the left hand fork and you will see Ironside Hill on the left shortly after a cattle stop. The hill is an easy 100m vertical with great views up and down the lake. There are some markers and a trig at the top. Return the opposite way. You could park at the Waterfall Creek bridge carpark which would shorten the trip to approx. 6.5km. Overall stunning vistas as you run/walk high above the lake.

This trail includes the peak Ironside Hill.

There is a trig at the top of Ironside Hill which is on the left hand side - stunning 360 deg views including Mt. Aspiring on a nice day

Easy.

Generally good.

Whistle, First aid kit, Cellphone, Map

You do cross some small streams that run across the track in places but suggest you don't drink the water as there are farm paddocks with animals nearby.

Nice trail with lake views. Missed the track up Ironside so added extra distance, look for the white marker only 50m past cattle stop.

A lovely run by the lakeside. Unfortunately the last 1.5km up to Iron Hill is closed 14th-24th of December due to track maintenance.
