Start by crossing the control gates. Take the right hand track following the lake around to Brod Bay for approximately 5km. From here, continue up the Kepler track through the bush until you reach the clearing. Take in the amazing views. Continue on the easy to follow track across the ridge up to the Luxmore hut where you have earned a well deserved rest, this is great opportunity to enjoy even more spectacular views. After leaving the hut, take the same track back down to the start.
A short side trip to the caves is highly recommended. Take the stairs to your right which are roughly 100m as you run back down on the return track. The caves are about a 10 minute out and back return. Enjoy the downhill all the way back to Brod Bay and the control gates where you started.
The caves at the top near the hut are a must see so be sure to carry a torch or headlight.
If you know of any public toilets near the trail start or on the route, please login and then let us know so we can update this section.
