This is a nice cruisy run to connect you to the Kepler track from Te Anau township, and in itself is a pleasant lakeside trail run. The trail starts from Fiordland National Park DOC Visitor centre and is obvious as it follows the lakefront all the way around to the Control Gates. Be sure to pop into the bird sanctuary part way round and visit the Takahe, Kaka and other wonderful birds that are in residence. When you hit the control gates, turn around and retrace your steps.
