Follow the track from North Egmont signposted to Makatawa Hut. Track descends into a stream bed before climbing up to the hut. From the hut follow the track further up to the translator track and return to North Egmont. Or you can continue up the Puffer to Tahurangi and connect to other trails there.

Great mostly runnable but technical ascent, steep gravel descent but great views. Awesome Taranaki environment.
