From the Abel Tasman Park cafe follow the causeway across the estuary. This is mostly flat with small undulations. Approximately 2k pass the Tinline campsite and begin a gradual ascent. You will shortly afterwards (300m) find a well marked turnoff to the 'Inland track'. Turn left here.
The track becomes much narrower and steeper as you ascend approx 4.3K. Parts are very steep and un-runnable but mostly ok.
Upon reaching the ridge the track soon divides. Follow the track to the right back down towards Torrent Bay/Anchorage. The top of this track is a bit rough a rooty but soon opens up to some nice flowing single track. At the bottom follow the signs towards Torrent Bay. Once in Torrent Bay, depending on the tides you can cross the estuary following the DOC markers towards Anchorage Bay. This does involve a couple of creek crossings. Or alternatively you can retrace your steps and follow the high tide coastal track back to Anchorage.
After crossing the estuary follow the track over the small ridge and then down to the beach. Halfway along the beach look out for the signs to Marahau. Follow the coastal track back to Marahau. This is well graded and great running.

Amazing views from the inland tracks, and they make a peaceful change from the busy coastal track (I didn't see anyone else for 2 hours). If you miss the low tide crossing the trail becomes closer to 31km. Take lots of water as the water at Anchorage is boil only.
