From the gate at the trailhead run about 100m before turning left and enjoying a lovely downhill run. You will come to a ford which you cross and continue along the forestry road. At around 1km you will see some old buildings; turn right and continue along the road for a good 3ish km uphill slog.
At the top, the road appears to stop, but look ahead and you will see a short section of single track that crosses the slip. Take care here. On the other side, you will pick up the forestry road again.
Follow this for a lovely undulating but predominantly downhill run.
After around 5km you will reach the same old buildings. From here retrace your steps downhill, across the ford, and a final uphill sprint back to your car.
This run is on a forestry road in a planted pine forest.

A nice morning out in the forest. Note that the marked walking trail goes off to the right before the ford, and this loop includes going past explicit "Do not enter this area" signs :D
Also note that the single-track that bypasses the slip at the top is a bit overgrown with gorse at the entrance. It opens out pretty quickly and is non-perilous to get through.
