This is a out and back along the Waikato River Trail (with a small loop at the Arapunui end ). From Little Waipa head south, following that path for 5km. Here you will meet Powerhouse Road, turn left and head up the road (200m), take the trail on the right and follow this until you reach a concrete path running perpendicular to the river. Head down here and across the swing bridge. Exit the bridge and turn right down the road, across the road bridge and up the hill. On the left you will find the trail again. Head back north to Little Waipa (5km).
The Arapunui swing bridge build in 1926, and dam.

Lovely runnable trail, great for training on, very little risk of tripping up! Some gorgeous things to see also the way, a well used track with a constant flow of people.

Lovely run. Went early morning. As mentioned before there were a few cyclists.

Really enjoyed the run. So pretty with the Waikato right there. Being spring there were a few ducklings and goslings which were cute! The run itself is pretty “easy” as far as trails go. Nice wide tracks, no roots or things to watch out for. A couple of small hills. Often Beautiful fields on one side and stunning river on other. I went on a day when it was pouring with rain and the trail was still clear except for a couple of small puddles, but because of this no one else around. Long drops for toilets at the start. Nice and clean. Well worth a visit!

Love this trail starting at Arapuni to Little Waipa reserve and return followed by a stop at the Rhubarb Cafe (not to be missed)
