At the end of the carpark (past the bridge that goes over the river) you will see the sign for the Redwoods track. Follow this track and quite quickly you will end on a road, look left to see the track continue over the road. Continue to follow track and signs for Redwoods track. About halfway in you will see the track continue straight or there is an option to go right (sign saying to Taupo via grass), go right here and you will continue on single track which eventually turns into grass and then you will return to single track for a little bit until getting to grass again (easy track through grass to follow though). For the last 500m you will hit footpath which runs you down the hill to the river.
Turn here and head back the way you came.
Huka Falls (at start) and beautiful redwoods

I could image this track could get muddy after rain. No issues when I ran it in summer.

Lovely redwoods and native bush and the track surface is very easy to run on. I did however come across a fair number of MTBers that had to take evasive action to avoid hitting me or other objects. And although you are in the bush you are still very aware of the traffic noise from the main highway. A good runnable trail that I will do again when next in Taupo
