Very simple straightforward point to point track...the only off-shoot is at about 900m where there is a small track to the right where the main trail turns left. The wee trail is worth a quick look as it brings you to a great lookout spot. It appears that it then decends rapidly down to the road but I turned around and went back to the main trail. At about 1.5km you come to the end of the trail on State Highway 1 a bit south of you start, you then retrace your steps.
Note: Dogs kept on a lead are permitted.
Great views down Lake Taupo

Perfect little legstretcher to break up our travels. Parked at the rest area, just south & across the road, as plenty of turning room there for our bus ;) Interesting wee track & views! 👍🏼 Gosh the leaves were slippery today; nearly canned over half a dozen times 🤪😆

Loved this little run today, had no idea it was a WT trail until I got a notification through! Just under 4km if you run from the boat ramp like I did. Great trail with epic views, awesome old school Trail, would love to know the history of trail.
