The trail is part of the Surf 2 Firth Bush marathon route and follows the old pack trails that led to farming land that is no fully regenerated.
Follow the orange track markers. The trail is relatively open thanks to volunteers. it is best run in drier months as the track gets muddy on top especially if the pigs go through and rip it up. Don't worry your dog will protect you.

Track goes to the old Crosbies settlement tucked in behind table Mountain. You can go to the DOC hut.

Trail Reviews

Great trail, we ran it early November 2022. The track has degraded since a group of us did it early 2021 looks to be mostly due to erosion. Still a lot of muddy patches over the whole track but not very deep.
As seen in the profile, it starts with lots of up then settles to undulating but is runnable the entire track. I particularly enjoyed the changing track composition, mud, rock, clay, packed, single track.

A winter mud bath, knee deep at times but a bloody great workout.
