Starting at Kiwi Crescent, head south along the road, turn right onto Larsen Cres, cut through the small reserve to Peterhouse Street where you will see another trail entrance, for Redwood Bush.

Follow the main trail as it loops around, past several small information boards about local flora. At approx. 1.3km in you head straight up until you come to a fenceline. Turn right and follow the fenceline, ignoring a turnoff to the right.

At the next intersection (at approx. 2km) carry on straight into the forest and follow the main track until you get to the sign that mentions horses (if you miss the sign you'll see the dung).

Continue along the horse trail until it spits you out on the Spicer Forest Reserve Road, run along the road for a short time and at approx 3.8km you should see the signage for Te Ngahere-o-Tawa track.

Finish with a joyful downhill jog, with options to either stay on the main mountain biking track or jump onto the walkers only track. Both take you back to Kiwi Cres.

Redwood Bush has some interesting information regarding local trees.

Willowbank Reserve, near the Bucket Tree.

Roadside parking available. Closest train station is at Redwood. Bus number 60 will take you to the main road in Tawa. Walk up via Larsen Cres.
