This run incorperates views of the scenic Cobden Tiphead, Cobden beach, Aromahana lagoon and Grey river.
Beginning at the Cobden Tiphead follow the road for 300m until it joins with the trail at the Aromahana sanctuary. Follow the trail alongside the sanctuary to the lagoon, and follow the track as it loops the lagoon. Where the track meets the beachfront enjoy the crashing waves, then turn right and continue following the lagoon track. When it ends at the road, cross the road following the obvious track up to the floodwall. From here you run along the floodwall, taking in views of the estuary and Grey river. The floodwall continues along for 2km before ending at the carpark for the boat ramp. At this point turn around and return along the floodwall.
On the way back you will pass a sign post for the Cobden Island Walk. At low tide you can turn left and follow this loop. This loop is part of the estuary and is prone to flooding. It is often muddy and boggy after rain. The track takes in further views of the Grey river.
At the end of the loop return to the floodwall and follow it back to the Aromahana Lagoon. This time when the track meets the beachfront, follow the gravel beach path towards the Cobden tiphead. This will provide a beachfront run back to the car.
The Aromahana Sanctuary is home to native flora and fauna. This section of the track is 1.2km long and follows a new, well maintained track with multiple viewpoints of the lagoon.
