From the car park, a gentle run along an old bridle track brings you to the Fenian Caves Loop Track. At this point the track changes from ‘walking track’ standard to ‘tramping track’ standard. There are a lot of places to stop to look at tree ferns, cliff edges and waterfalls that lead into the river in the adjacent valley.

At the first track junction turn right and head towards the 1.5km loop track to view the miners and tunnel saves which are beside the track. This section is known to be muddy. Partway through the loop you pass through an 80m tunnel called Tunnel Cave. You'll need a torch or headlamp to explore this section.

Once out of Tunnel Cave you pass Cavern Creek before you arrive back at the Fenian Track. Turn right and continue eastwards towards the historic Adams Flat Hut. Once at the hut, turn around and head back the way you came, but bypassing the caves loop and continuing westwards along the track back to the carpark.
